RockHouse Ministries & Programs was born from a vision—one given by God to a man who had spent 34 years trapped in the chains of addiction. Lost and broken, he entered a free, faith-based recovery program where he discovered what had been missing all along: a true relationship with Jesus Christ. After graduating in 2017, he embarked on a powerful mission—a WALK ACROSS AMERICA, carrying the cross and bringing the message of hope to those suffering from addiction. With every step, he shared his testimony, raised awareness of the addiction crisis, and extended a helping hand to those who had lost all hope.

In that journey, he found his God-given purpose.

Joined by his wife, Marisol, Jim Downs began ministering across the country, offering men and women a path out of addiction, homelessness, hunger, and despair. They became a beacon of light for the lost, speaking in churches, shelters, and recovery programs, calling people to freedom through Christ.

In 2019, Jim felt another divine call—this time, to take the mission even further. He pedaled over 5,000 miles across America on a bicycle, speaking at state capitals, meeting with governors, senators, and congressmen, and addressing the public and media. His message was clear: addiction is an epidemic, but real solutions exist. He connected with hundreds of recovery programs nationwide, bringing together resources and hope for those who needed it most.

Then, the next step became clear. With complete surrender and obedience to God, Jim and Marisol moved to Spring City, Tennessee, to lay the foundation for RockHouse Ministries & Programs—a place of true healing and transformation. This vision became reality with the opening of Rise Up Women’s Recovery Program, the first of many long-term, faith-based residential programs. Soon after, The Brotherhood Men’s Recovery Program was born, expanding the mission to serve even more lives in need.

RockHouse Ministries & Programs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a single mission: to save lives from addiction through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are committed to breaking chains, restoring hope, and guiding people into the freedom and purpose that can only be found in Him.
